My Guilty Pleasure is … Jake Bass.
Though he previously appeared on VideoBoys, I first discovered Jake Bass when he became a Cockyboys exclusive. It seemed that once I saw his name for the first time, I began to see it everywhere. Two things about him resonate with me: the first is his resemblance to one of my characters. I’ve been working on a very challenging book about a beautiful boy named Aaron. Short and slender with black hair and a heart piercing sadness, he walked off the page and right into Cockyboys’ new exclusive model. Now, when I write him, I can’t help but see the Canadian born diver staring back.
The second thing that draws me to Jake Bass and his work is his innate vulnerability. While I realize that it may be just part of his persona, he strikes me as the kind of boy you want to stand in front of and protect from the world. While it may be odd to say, I see a child-like innocence in him. He’s not jaded or angry, but fun and spontaneous. It shows through clearly in his video interviews at the beginning of a scene, as well as his twitter interactions.
I had the good fortune to meet Jake Bass at the Black Party Expo after a book signing in New York. Sweet and affectionate, he accepted the gift I’d brought for him with excitement and enthusiasm for which I was grateful. Being naturally shy, I’d been apprehensive about meeting some of the models at the expo, but his friendly nature made him very approachable.
As to his work with Cockyboys, I have to say that I do watch for his new scenes, which is something I’ve not done before with a subscription. Usually, when I’m starting to write a scene and need…proper inspiration…I just watch whatever strikes me when I load a site. I have several subscriptions, but Jake Bass draws me back to Cockyboys. My favorite scene to date has to be the one with Justin LeBeau. The kissing at the beginning of the scene is incredibly sensual. They look like two hot guys just back from a date. It feels authentic to me, though it could be my bias for the models because Justin LeBeau isn’t hard on the eyes either – long and lean with shaggy brown hair and a sweet smile.
So, do I feel totally guilty for taking pleasure watching this kid who looks like somebody’s little brother? Yep. Will it stop me? Not for a New York minute.
